Founder and medical director of Radiant Clinic, Dr. James Howton attended Baylor University in Texas for his undergraduate studies as well as his masters in Clinical Gerontology (the study of aging). He received his medical degree in 1993 from North Texas Health Science Center in Ft. Worth, Texas, after which he completed a three-year Family Practice residency in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He then worked in Emergency Medicine until he found the ideal practice location in Estes Park, Colorado. His Estes Park practice consisted of “full spectrum” family medicine ranging from obstetrics to staffing the Emergency Room to hospital admissions and nursing home care.

Dr. Howton introduced a number of preventive medicine modalities in his practice, including the first bone density scanner in the area, cardiac stress testing and endoscopy for colon cancer screening. In 2003, he sold the practice, which had grown to five providers, in order to focus on anti-aging and preventive medicine. In March of 2007, Dr. Howton founded Radiant Clinic and began working with Suzanne Somers and Menopause Clinics of America to increase awareness about hormone imbalance and the benefits of bio-identical hormones. He has traveled extensively for both education and pleasure and maintains a philosophy that gives priority to family and relationships. He is devoted to his wife of 20 years, Andrea, who also works at the clinics and to their two children: Joshua, 14 and Moriah, 4. Dr. Howton splits his time between the clinics in Cherry Creek and Loveland.
